A note on Koda 16 pricing from founders Kristian Tapaninaho and Darina Garland

Hello, fellow pizza fan.

The past two years have been a time of enormous change, both here at Ooni and throughout the world. We hope you and yours are faring well.

Nearly a decade ago, we created Ooni so our young family could have great pizza at home, which helped turn our garden into an awesome space for friends and family to gather. So much has happened since then, but one thing remains constant: we’re still inspired daily by people all over the world having amazing pizza experiences with their Ooni ovens.

Now, as the pandemic has kept many of us close to home, we’ve been cheered to see the Ooni community grow, creating rituals and connections out of this rare moment in time. Through your social media posts, we’ve watched as your ovens have given you new cause to celebrate the everyday moments that, as it turns out, are worth celebrating just as much as the milestones. 

But as we’ve made the most of our new reality, we’ve also been dealing with new challenges. You have no doubt noticed that shipping times for many brands, including ours, have grown lengthier and harder to predict since the pandemic began. Disruptions to the global supply chain have been a major factor in that, and over time, shipping containers have also become few and far between. 

We pride ourselves on being forthright with our community, which is why we wanted to let you know ahead of time that as of 1 February 2022, we will be forced to raise the price of the Ooni Koda 16 Pizza Oven from €499 to €599. Increasing costs for raw materials and manufacturing, as well as astronomical shipping rates, are the main factors driving this decision. We have borne these skyrocketing costs as long as we could, but acting responsibly is part of our duty to our employees and partners, and for Ooni, unfortunately, increasing the price of the Koda 16 is the responsible thing to do.

We personally don’t love getting surprised by changes, which is why we’ve built in a grace period for anyone who has been thinking of purchasing a new Ooni oven. Prices will remain at current levels through the end of this month, to allow our EU community time to make any necessary purchases at our longstanding prices. It’s our way of showing appreciation for the support and trust you’ve placed in Ooni.
